What is smart lighting?

Smart lighting is an innovative lighting technology which allows you to automatically control your lighting using specific lighting systems. This not only makes it easier to use your lighting, but also makes it a lot more pleasant. For example, with smart lighting you can automatically control your lighting, from dimming the light and adjusting the color temperature to controlling the correct amount of daylight.

Smart lighting works with a few triggers to automatically adjust the light. For example, sensor technology can be used to detect the presence of people in a room or the amount of daylight shining into a room. Time, sound and external data such as location or a weather forecaster are also possible triggers.

Smart lighting also uses certain connections to link your different lighting systems to your smartphone so you can easily operate them. With WiFi this is possible through a connection with a central unit to which all devices can be connected. With Bluetooth this is a direct connection between your smartphone and the lighting devices or also through a central unit, which is the case with Bluetooth mesh. There are also other wireless communication systems that can be used for lighting, such as Zigbee.
